Neal Forster
I am disabled and since becoming so I have anxiety, PTSD and depression which my art transcends and gives me something to focus upon, leaving my issues behind me for a short time. Art works as therapy allowing me to concentrate on the painting I am creating beyond the pain and anxiety I am feeling. I have nerve damage in my left arm, which causes constant pain level kept in check by high levels of pain relief medication. I have been featured in Artist Closeup Magazine and have been exhibited in Dubai, Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom.
My art has an organic slant penetrating Colour and shape that make you see texture in art and that is what I aim to achieve in my paintings. The use of some bright colour in my art improves my mood and affects my emotions positively. Creating collections of related bodies of work to explore different styles, mediums and subjects building on the organic slant. My use of colour is aimed to trigger your emotions and should lighten your mood to the levels I feel when painting them. One of my early collections is of a group of slightly cartoon styled animals for a child’s bedroom or nursery, which I initially completed for my grandson’s bedroom and all are now available as signed prints individually or build into a related set.
