NUMBER 8: FINISH THEIR WORK PROPERLY
Delivering the final piece as the luxury item that it should be
One of the most reliable ways Artists can instil confidence in their ability and convey an artwork's intrinsic value is through the way it is finished. Its about making sure each decision you make as an artist looks intentional and that the choices you have made are for the benefit of the artwork in question.
Using good quality materials and ensuring your work is presented and finished to a high standard sends a subtle message that because you take your work seriously so should the audience.
By using great materials and putting a well considered price against an art piece, you present it with a greater "perceived value" when shown. A cheap wine presented beautifully in a crystal glass can feel more expensive than the most wonderful wine in the world served in a plastic cup.
The trick is making both the artwork and its presentation flawless and delivering the final piece as the luxury item that it should be.
